• Elwing Pointers had its beginning in 1971 when I received an unregistered Pointer as a present.  While the name Elwing was not chosen until 1978, I was hooked.  Winkie was a fantastic gun dog who taught me what fun it is to watch a good dog work in the field.  Winkie was granted an indefinite listing privilege (ILP) and earned his CD.  After years of showing Quarter Horses, it did not take me long to become hooked on showing dogs.

• In 1982 I added an Italian Greyhound and a German Shorthaired Pointer.  The IG proved to be one of a kind.  The Shorthair got me hooked on a new breed and I had not been without a GSP until I lost Hailey this past September.
